Enclosed is information  outlining the 63rd Annual Freedom Essay Contest sponsored by the Sertoma Club of Nashville. Last year, $9,500.00 was awarded to local high school seniors, and the school of each winner also received a $100.00 cash gift.

The information sheets detail the contest rules, clarification of eligibility, essay topic and content, and deadlines. In particular:

                 •All essays should be received by the designated scholarship representative (Principal, Guidance Counselor, etc.) of each                                      participating school, for judging in time for the selected essays to be sent to the Sertoma Club of Nashville as indicated                                  below.

               •March 15, 2024 – Student Essays due to school representative. The top three essays from the scholarship representative of                                each  participating school must be sent to the Sertoma Club of Nashville and postmarked on or before March 20, 2024.

               •Week of April 3, 2024 – Notification of winners.

               •Late April or early May 2024 (Date to be announced) - Annual Awards' Banquet. The award recipients will read their essays and                       receive their awards, and the student's school scholarship representative will be invited to attend and accept a $100.00 gift                           for each winner’s school.

Enclosed are copies of the information sheets and a summary flyer. Please feel free to photocopy these for distribution to interested students. Additionally, the contest information will also be posted on our website www.nashvillesertomaclub.org.
